The first thing we would come to learn in Copenhagen was that everyone owned a bike and no one owned a bike lock. Some owned bike locks but chose to use them to lock up benches and planks of wood rather than their bikes. The only thing it seemed that the city liked more than bikes was feminism. Down every street there was a sign post or a piece of art that highlighted the need for gender equality.
Most of you that know me know that I pride myself on being a feminist so I was in awe of such a display. London must learn. Copenhagen train station was a disorganised mess but we somehow managed to find our way to the right exit needed for our hostel. We checked ourselves in using a computer and didnt see any staff pretty much the whole time we were there — except the bar staff of course. We saw those a few times.
As always, we had far too much stuff planned for the 2 days we were there so we put our stuff down, made our beds and went for a walk to Nyhavn.
